Same-Sex Marriage
Same-Sex Marriage is a huge topic in elections. Marriage is traditionally viewed as the joining of a man and woman, but then there are people who love each other who are not man and women but man and man and women and women. Until recently same-sex couples could not marry in any state in the United States. This was up untill current events that made a few states change their minds. Then same-sex marriages started happening all over the country like from New York to San Francisco and a few other states. Massachusetts was the one state to start this all because it was the first state to get same-sex marriages legalized. Even though Massachusetts became legalized it did not mean other states have to get legalized too, the have their own choice. Right now there are about more than a half a dozen places that have legalized same-sex marriage nationwide like Canada, Spain and South Africa. People who support same-sex marriage are saying that gays and lesbians should have rights so that they can marry and recieve the same rights as hetreosexual. But opponents of same-sex marriage say marriage should only be between a man and a woman and that anything else besides that is wrong. They are also saying that allowing same-sex marriage would destroy the sanctity of marriage.
